Some horrible news! The University Campus West gym will be used for a school function this month so we will regrettably be canceling drop-in dodgeball. That's the bad news.

The good news?

We're going to play kickball on the field!

Meet at the UCW gym parking lot on Thursday, September 17th, at 8pm and playing until 10. We recommend dressing warmly and wearing light coloured clothing as we will be playing into the evening.

Neat!

I love the way you deliver the news Foxxphyre.

Do they have a lighted field coz it is getting late fast.

Cheers!

No... that is why I suggest you wear white. The balls are bright yellow, however... we will see how it goes.

This past Thursday we held out first kickball game in the field behind University Campus West. We had a great time, working out rules and some of the practical aspects of the game while we played. Next time we're going to add some reflective tape to the ball and light up our bases- low light conditions was the biggest challenge we faced other than having Ted on the other team! The field needs a few improvements, but as a sandlot its a great place to play.

We worked out that the best way to play is to have teams of 7- 3 outfielders, 3 infielders and a catcher. To allow for a more cooperative game, we will have one person pitching per game. This goal of the pitcher is not to "strike" anyone out, but to serve up kickable balls so that everyone can get involved. The pitcher will also function as an impartial umpire. This will help some of our less able folk to participate and be just as involved as anyone else!

We're super stoked for the next TEAM 420 drop-in night where we will be playing both Dodgeball and, weather permitting, another Kickball game! The next drop-in night will be Thursday, October 15, meeting at 8pm at the University Campus West, 950 Kings Road, in the parking lot!

Drop-in Fun! Same Pot-time, Same Pot-channel!

See you all there!

Peace,
Foxx

TEAM 420 is pleased to announce that after the first successful run of kickball at a TEAM 420 drop-in night we
held a second game in October. One of the most attractive aspects of kickball is that anyone participate in the game as pitchers and umpires. Drop-in nights are the the third Thursday of the month at the University Campus West, 950 Kings Road. In November we canceled for the weather, and the December drop in games night was a rousing run at the Cultivation board game down at the clubhouse. We will be carrying the board games in the near future. ...The inaugural TEAM 420 Frisbee Golf tournament in East Sooke Park, was a modest success. The day gave us an opportunity to fully develop the rules and style of play that we will be using for TEAM 420 sponsored Frisbee golf events. Our TEAM 420 fun specialists decided, in consultation with some more experienced Frisbee golfers, that a low impact, highly mobile, and a modular course is preferable. Using brightly decorated PVC piping as targets has given us the flexibility to accomplish this, as well as allowing us to play in more accessible and confined areas. Another consideration was the environmental impact of traditional Frisbee golf courses. With our design we will avoid many of these pitfalls by creating portable obstacles from recycled materials, and not continually reusing the same natural space. Look for TEAM 420 Frisbee golfers
goofing off around Victoria this winter—especially after the release of our new hemp cloth Frisbees!
TEAM 420 products are available at Sacred Herb: The Hemp Shop, here in Victoria, and are available for those of you who want to grab some official gear before our next event. We are also working on getting our products into outlets in other cities across the country for our fans elsewhere. Mail orders are still available through the Hempology.ca website. The next big step for TEAM 420 will be the addition of several new products for the TEAM 420 line. On the top of the list are hemp cloth Frisbees and hackey sacks, but there will be a number of new products forthcoming over the winter months. That's all for now. Keep healthy and active, and support the
herb! Go TEAM 420!

What great weather we're having! TEAM 420 is going to be celebrating this unseasonable warmth by having a few rounds of Frisbee golf! We'll be meeting tonight, February 18th, at 8pm at the University Campus West, 950 Kings Road, in the parking lot. The course will be on the field that borders Hillside and Quadra, behind the BC Smoke Shop.

Next week, on February 25th, we will be having another TEAM 420 games night at the Cannabis Buyers Club, 826 Johnson St. to play the Cultivation Game!

We also have word that the TEAM 420 cheerleaders are hard at work putting together new costumes to cheer our participants on in some bigger community events...

The biggest news of the day, however, is the announcement of the TEAM 420 Frisbee Golf Challenge! The first event will be Saturday, March 6th, from 1pm to 4pm. TEAM 420 will be setting up a course on the Cedar Hill Corner property at UVic. The Cedar Hill Corner is bordered by Cedar Hill Cross Rd to the South and Mystic Veil forest to the North.

Look for further Frisbee Golf Challenge events on the first Saturday of each month!

Hope to see everyone out! Get springing with TEAM 420!

i took the opportunity & put a team420 sticker on one of my buddies golf bags.which made them all ask what team420 was :D
i also wore my camo style "Medicinal" t shirt, from Michelle Rainey.(will get Team420 pack through mail order).
every time i shouted "four" it soon turned to "four twenty"....

GET IN THE GAME WITH TEAM 420
Cannabis Digest #24
By Ted Smith

Team 420 has a game plan—we want to get cannabis lovers playing games or sports, entering charities and tournaments, eating hemp food, wearing hemp clothes, and generally use cannabis as much as possible. It will not be easy, but it can be done.

Though we only have a few regular, sponsored activities right now, anyone can buy or make a Team 420 t-shirt, sticker, button, flag, or banner, and enter themselves in a sporting event or organize a backyard game. Anyone wearing Team 420 at a public sporting event is helping to break the “lazy pothead” stereotype, and getting involved in the community and getting in better shape at the same time.

Team 420 first took the field last summer at the 2009 Zone/City of Victoria Dodgeball Tournament at the Save-On-Foods Center—and training will begin soon for this year’s Team. On the third Thurs. of each month, we gather on the fields of University West, in Victoria, to play dodgeball, frisbee golf, or kickball. We have made six frisbee golf tees out of PVC pipe that can be easily moved around a field or parking lot, making it easy on the trees and shrubs, which often get hit by Frisbees. You can also find us playing Frisbee golf from 2 to 4 p.m. on the first Sat. of every month at Cedar Hills Corner, which is basically the southeast corner of UVic.

Plans to produce hemp fabric frisbees are currently in the works, and they will hopefully be ready for sale by Fall for the East Sooke Park Frisbee Golf Tournament. Hemp pompoms and flags are also being worked on, though the hacky sack design is not working out very well yet. At this point, we have Team 420 t-shirts, stickers, and buttons for sale; Sacred Herb is currently the only place where you can buy them. That will change soon, and it will not be long before we are selling things on-line, too.

It is our goal to open a Team 420 sports lounge in Vancouver within the next few years, with a vision of spreading them around the world. The stores will sell grow equipment, books, and hemp products, among other things, while providing a space for customers to drink healthy hemp-based drinks and foods with big screens showing athletes competing on the Team 420 webpage. We would like to open Team 420 sports lounges near athletic facilities and attempt to provide an opportunity for customers to play games, watch sports, and get fit.

Encouraging people who love cannabis and sports to wear the Team 420 logo at public events is a great way to bring attention to the subject, and have fun at the same time. Whether you are wearing a t-shirt cheering on the sidelines, wearing the sticker on your skateboard, or paying to enter Team 420 in a local charity, get in the game. Show the ignorant how athletic and fit cannabis consumers can be.
Go Team 420!

Well dodgeball is sure becoming popular quickly. For the last 2 months we have been playing in a courtyard near Pandora and Blanshard but the group was getting too large for one game. So I bought a second set of balls and last night we split the group into 2 games. Unfortunately the group got kicked out of the courtyard, so everyone came to the courthouse lawn. We had 2 games happening with at least 38 people in attendance. It was a lot of fun and we will now gather every Thurs night at the courthouse until it starts getting too dark, at which time we will play at 4:20pm instead.

The monthly frisbee golf game is going to be discontinued. It was fun but the turnout was never that large. We will still have some annual frisbee golf tournaments but we will not have monthly games until someone wants to do that without my help.

We will likely start Team 420 soccer games this Sept on Saturdays at 4:20.

Get in the game.

So we are starting the dodgeball games at 420 from now on. If all goes well we will be having a bring your own bbq this week and every Thurs after ppl get their welfare check. We will also set up a net for ppl to play hack a sac tennis. There may also be attempts to start a Cannabis Choir at these weekly 420 gatherings. We had 52 ppl there last week. At this rate I will be getting a 3rd set of balls in Sept.
